In the summer of 1981, seventeen-year-old Kathryn Mae Quackenbush, known to her loved ones as Kitty, was visiting her father in Delmar, Maryland. A resident of Georgia, she and her brother made the trip to spend time with him. On the evening of Tuesday, July 14, Kathryn had plans to go to a bowling alley in the nearby town of Salisbury.
