Vicki Lynn Carriere, an 18-year-old on the brink of motherhood, disappeared from Waggaman, Louisiana, on July 12, 1987. At eight months pregnant, her life was filled with anticipation for the arrival of her baby boy, who was due the following month. That evening, around 5:00 p.m., Vicki was with her boyfriend and fiancé, Joseph Phillips, at a Time Saver convenience store on River Road. The couple had been at Phillips's family fishing camp and were supposed to be heading to Vicki's parents' home. Phillips went into the store to buy drinks, leaving Vicki to wait in the car. When he returned, she was gone. In the initial moments following Vicki's disappearance, her family grew concerned when she didn't arrive home as planned. Their worry intensified a week later when she failed to attend her own baby shower, an event her parents had been eagerly anticipating. They had already prepared for their grandson's arrival, having purchased baby items and even prepaid the hospital delivery bill. The circumstances of her disappearance, as recounted by her boyfriend, raised immediate questions. He claimed that not only was Vicki gone when he came out of the convenience store, but a bundle of her clothing was also missing from the car. The investigation into Vicki's disappearance focused on her boyfriend, Joseph Phillips, who was considered a suspect. He reportedly refused to take a polygraph test regarding the events of that day. Despite the suspicion surrounding him, Phillips was never formally charged in connection with Vicki's case. He passed away in 2002 at the age of 47, taking any potential answers he may have had with him. Vicki was last seen wearing a white maternity shirt with the word "Baby" printed in black, along with dark blue shorts. She had blonde hair, green eyes, and a distinctive tattoo of a yellow rose on her right ankle. The case of Vicki Lynn Carriere remains an unsolved and heart-wrenching mystery, leaving her family without closure for decades. Foul play is suspected in her disappearance, and the hope of finding out what happened to the young mother-to-be has not faded with time.
