In the late spring of 2021, concern grew for the well-being of Raymond William Martin, a 63-year-old man from Crete Township, Illinois. He was last seen on the evening of Saturday, May 22, 2021, when he walked away from his family's residence. Following his disappearance, it is believed that he was seen hitchhiking on Exchange Road, somewhere between Route 394 and just over the Indiana border. This area was familiar to him, as he was known to frequent the Matteson and south side of Chicago areas. The Will County Sheriff's Office was tasked with the investigation into Raymond's disappearance, and they reached out to the public for assistance in locating him. They shared his description and the circumstances of his disappearance, hoping for any information that could lead to his whereabouts. The case was classified as an endangered adult and entered into missing persons databases.
