On a September evening in 1975, a young woman named Cassandra Nadine Landrum, known to her loved ones as Sandra, walked out of her family's home in Union City, Georgia, and vanished. The 18-year-old had intended to make a short half-block walk to a payphone at a local Dairy Queen.
