At approximately 11:00 p.m., he left his mother's home on Mississippi Avenue Southeast, driving his blue 2016 Jeep Compass with Washington D.C. license plate number GD1855. Richardson, a passionate music enthusiast who dreamed of becoming a music producer, told a friend he was traveling to Cody, Wyoming, to meet with the rapper Kanye West, whom he referred to as "his buddy."
