Luis Enrique Villa Rubio, a 20-year-old from Culiacán, Mexico, was last seen in Modesto, California, on April 14, 2010. He had moved to the United States with his brother, Jose Villa Rubio, to find work. The brothers disappeared together and have not been heard from since. At the time of his disappearance, Luis was described as a Hispanic male with brown hair, hazel eyes, standing at 5 feet 7 inches tall, and weighing 200 pounds.
He was reportedly wearing a black long-sleeved sweater, black pants, and black shoes.
Investigators believe the disappearances of Luis and his brother may be linked to a local drug cartel and that both men were murdered. This theory led authorities to a property on Tuolumne Road in 2014, which was associated with a suspect in their presumed homicides, Francisco Felix. A search of the property, however, did not yield any evidence related to the brothers' disappearance.
In 2018, Francisco Felix was sentenced to twenty years in prison for drug trafficking. Despite Felix being a suspect in the presumed homicides of Luis and Jose Villa Rubio, no charges have been filed in their cases.
