Patrick Jay Valente, a 58-year-old man from Arroyo Grande, California, was last seen at his home on July 4, 2008. His residence was located in the 2500 block of Callender Road in a rural part of the city. Valente was officially reported missing to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department on July 12, 2008. At the time of his disappearance, Valente was described as a Caucasian male, standing at 5'7" to 5'9" tall and weighing approximately 195 to 200 pounds.
He had brown hair, green or hazel eyes, and a salt-and-pepper beard.
The circumstances surrounding Valente's disappearance are considered suspicious by investigators. This is due to the fact that all of his personal belongings, including his car, cellular phone, and keys, were left behind at his residence. His pet dog was also found at the home, and it appeared to have not been recently cared for, suggesting Valente's departure was not voluntary.
