On February 7, 1998, 28-year-old Jonathan M. Mcnabb was last seen hiking in Sequoia National Park in California. He had been dropped off past Shepherd Saddle Road on North Fork Drive with the intention of hiking approximately 20 miles to Lodgepole to retrieve his mail, a trip he anticipated would take 16 to 18 hours.
