Justin Matthew Lederer, a 30-year-old man from Castaic, California, was last seen on February 18, 2023. His disappearance followed a conversation with his parents in which they stated he could no longer reside at their home if he continued to use drugs. In response, Lederer reportedly said, "I'm always going to be an addict," and then left their residence on the 31000 block of Citrine Road. He was reported missing by his family approximately a year later after friends, including those within the drug community, had not heard from him.
Lederer is a white male with blond hair and blue eyes, standing at 5'11" and weighing around 170 pounds. He has a tattoo of an alien on one of his arms and was unshaven at the time of his disappearance. He was last seen wearing a baggy t-shirt and hiking pants. Lederer has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and has a history of fentanyl addiction, for which he had previously sought rehabilitation. His family expressed concern for his well-being, noting that he had struggled with depression.
After leaving his family's home, it is believed that Lederer may have intended to go to Skid Row in downtown Los Angeles. While he initially stayed in contact with some friends, all communication eventually ceased. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is handling the investigation into his disappearance. As of late 2024, his case remains unresolved, and there have been no significant updates on his whereabouts.
