Tyler Garrett Hayden, a 25-year-old financial advisor, went missing on September 6, 2015, following a boating accident off the coast of Southern California. The incident occurred near Descanso Bay off Catalina Island when a dinghy he was in collided with a 17-foot vessel at approximately 1:15 a.m. While three other passengers were rescued, one person was killed in the collision, and Hayden was reported as missing.
Originally from Washington, Hayden was a graduate of Shorecrest High School and the University of California at Santa Barbara. At the time of his disappearance, he was working as a financial advisor. Authorities with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department were involved in the case.
Hayden is described as a white male, standing at 5'10" and weighing 170 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a black shirt. Despite search efforts, his body was never recovered, and he is presumed to have drowned. Memorial services were held for him following the accident.
