Corinne Anita Hagler, a 17-year-old Caucasian female, has been missing since October 1, 1980, from Burbank, California. At the time of her disappearance, she was described as being 5'9" and weighing approximately 175 pounds, with brown, permed hair that was dyed a darker shade than its natural color, and blue/hazel eyes. Her nickname was Cori. Distinctive features included a large scar on her right forearm from an iron burn, a pigmented mole on her abdomen above her navel, and a tattoo of three dots in a triangle between her thumb and index finger. Hagler had previously broken three ribs and was knock-kneed.
The circumstances surrounding Corinne's disappearance, as reported by her father, Harold L. Hagler, are unsettling. He stated that he came home for his lunch break on a day in October 1980 and found Corinne engaged in sexual intercourse with her boyfriend, George Garnett. According to her father, an argument ensued during which he "slapped her around." He claimed that Corinne then ran away from home, possibly with the intention of going to Texas. Corinne has not been seen or heard from since that day. Shortly after she vanished, her father replaced the carpeting in their home, stating that it was stained with fluids from his daughter's encounter with her boyfriend.
Corinne's boyfriend, George Garnett, also disappeared at approximately the same time, and he too remains missing. Further information and photographs of Garnett are unavailable. There has been speculation regarding the fact that Corinne's father may have had connections to law enforcement, with a Harold Hagler being listed as a Senior Animal Control Officer with the Burbank Police Department in 1982. Records also show a Harold L. Hagler retired as a pensioner of the City of Burbank. No indication of Corinne's whereabouts has surfaced since her disappearance in 1980.
