On August 25, 1985, 25-year-old Alfred Guy Cardell Jr. went missing while diving in Monterey County, California. He was last seen at Point Lobos State Park, specifically at Blue Fish Cove. Cardell, an avid diver, began to ascend from a dive but never reached the surface.
At the time of his disappearance, Cardell was a promising young man with a bright future. He had graduated from the University of California at Davis with a degree in biochemistry and was employed as a genetic research assistant. He also had aspirations of attending veterinary school. His case is classified as a missing person as a result of a catastrophe, with the presumption that he drowned while diving.
Despite the circumstances, Alfred Guy Cardell Jr.'s remains have never been recovered. He was a white male, 5'8" tall, weighing 155 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. The Monterey County Sheriff's Department is the investigating agency for his case.
