On Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2000, 27-year-old Eric Joseph Barbree went missing after going for a swim in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Monterey County, California. He was last seen at approximately 3:00 p.m. in the area of Tunnel Rock near Sand Dollar Beach, south of Big Sur.
