On December 17, 2023, 14-year-old Keylen Garret Taylor, a Black male from La Vergne, Tennessee, was reported missing out of Rutherford County by local law enforcement. At the time, he stood approximately 5′5″, weighed about 90 lbs, and was described with brown hair and brown eyes. The La Vergne Police Department took the lead on the case, coordinating efforts with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and the disappearance was cataloged under a NamUs case number.
