He was reported missing the following afternoon. His case is listed in the NamUs database as MP149360, with the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office identified as the investigating agency. He is also known by the name Bradley Pierson. He has brown hair kept short on the sides with a ponytail, blue eyes, a goatee, and wears corrective lenses. He is described as about 6 feet 3 inches tall. Family- and community-reported identifiers include a tattoo on his neck that reads “TAKEN” and a prominent arm sleeve tattoo from the elbow to the wrist.
On Tuesday, August 5, a U.S. Forest Service crew located his vehicle, a black-and-green 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup on a secluded skid road roughly five miles south of Quincy. The truck appeared to be stuck in loose dirt and was abandoned; numerous personal items belonging to Bradley were reportedly left inside. The area where the vehicle was found is rugged, steep, and brushy, complicating search efforts.
Plumas County Search and Rescue initiated an extensive operation, supported by mutual-aid teams and specialized resources, including ground crews, drones, and search dogs. Authorities and partner agencies canvassed Forest Service land and nearby private timber parcels, returning repeatedly to methodically grid-search difficult terrain. After the initial surge, the search posture continued with a sustained local effort while officials reiterated the need for public awareness and tips.
