On December 23, 2024, 35-year-old Nicholas Anselm Zeller was reported missing after being swept into the Pacific Ocean by powerful surf at Marina State Beach in Marina, California. The incident occurred around noon when Zeller was overcome by large waves. Bystanders attempted to assist but were unable to reach him due to the hazardous conditions.
