In the spring of 2023, the family of 73-year-old John Lee Chandler grew concerned when their calls to him suddenly went unanswered. A resident of Nashville, Tennessee, Mr. Chandler was a man of routine, and while he and his stepdaughter might go for periods without speaking, he would always answer her calls.
