Cody Enoch Haney, a 22-year-old man from Bristol, Florida, was last seen on June 23, 2024, in the Apalachicola National Forest, specifically in the area of Forest Road 109. According to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System his vehicle was later discovered abandoned in the woods off that road by responding law enforcement officers.
Prior to his disappearance, Haney was involved in a criminal incident. On June 23, 2024, he reportedly broke into a business where he had previously been employed, stole a truck, and fled the scene. The stolen vehicle was found later that day, bogged down in mud within the Apalachicola National Forest. Tracking dogs were brought to the scene but did not pick up a scent, according to Liberty County Sheriff Buddy Money.
Haney had a criminal history, including a parole violation after the signal was lost from his ankle monitor. Despite this, his employer noted that upon returning to work after being released from jail, Haney "was trying and doing very well." At the time of his disappearance, he was wanted for grand theft, burglary of a structure, and criminal mischief.
As of May 14, 2025, Haney remains missing. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is the investigating agency, and anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact them at 410-7000.
