On the morning of April 22, 2023, 50-year-old Daniel 'Dan' Born, a male resident of Tucson, Arizona, left a note stating his intention to go hiking on the scenic and rugged Mt. Lemmon. This was the last time anyone heard from him. Later that evening, his vehicle was located at the summit trailhead above Ski Valley, a popular starting point for many trails in the Santa Catalina Mountains.
