In the quiet community of Colonial Heights, Tennessee, concern grew for 17-year-old Jeremiah Dale Cole Begley in late February 2025. The young man, a resident of the Kingsport area, was last seen on February 23rd. Initial reports suggested he had left his residence with the intention of visiting a friend, though whether he departed on foot or in a vehicle was unclear. At the time of his disappearance, Jeremiah was described as being 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing approximately 172 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black tank top and black pants. As the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office began its investigation, the circumstances surrounding his departure were vague, leaving family and the community to wonder about his safety and whereabouts. The reality of Jeremiah's situation, however, was far more complex and dangerous than a simple case of a missing juvenile. Unbeknownst to those back home, he was involved in a multi-state crime spree with three other teenagers from Kingsport. The group was traveling in a stolen red Toyota Tundra and had been implicated in reckless acts, including brandishing firearms at other motorists. On the same day Jeremiah was last seen in Tennessee, the stolen truck was spotted on Interstate 81 in Pennsylvania after a motorist reported having a gun pointed at them. When Pennsylvania State Police attempted to pull the vehicle over, the teenagers fled, initiating a high-speed chase that reached speeds of over 100 mph. The pursuit escalated dramatically when individuals in the truck fired multiple shots at the pursuing troopers, striking a police vehicle. The dangerous chase crossed through multiple counties before the teens' truck became disabled near a Walmart in Saint Clair, Pennsylvania. All four occupants fled the vehicle on foot. While law enforcement quickly apprehended two of the teens, 18-year-old Kadence Gooch and another 17-year-old male, Jeremiah and a fourth teen, Christian Guerrero Jr., managed to escape. The pair ran into the nearby Walmart, where they discarded their clothing and shoplifted new items to alter their appearance before slipping out through an emergency exit. This set off an intensive search for the two remaining fugitives. The manhunt concluded four days later, on February 27, 2025, when U.S. Marshals and local authorities located and apprehended both Jeremiah Begley and Christian Guerrero Jr. at a residence in Hartford, Connecticut. The investigation revealed a planned crime spree that had shifted from a Florida destination to Connecticut. The case of Jeremiah Begley, which began as a missing person report in Tennessee, rapidly transformed into a serious criminal investigation spanning several states. His location was confirmed with his arrest, bringing an end to the uncertainty of his whereabouts but marking the beginning of significant legal proceedings, as all four teens faced charges that included attempted homicide.
