In the summer of 2024, concern grew for a 65-year-old woman from Henderson, North Carolina, named Theresa Farmer Buffington. On July 22nd, she had arranged to get a ride from a friend to the local Social Security Office. After being dropped off, her whereabouts became unknown, and she was not seen or heard from again that day.
