Connor Costello, a 30-year-old resident of Southborough, Massachusetts, was last seen by his parents in Orleans on the morning of November 8, 2024, around 8:00 AM. Later that morning, reports emerged of a male individual jumping off the Sagamore Bridge. Despite an extensive search, no body was found, and Costello remains missing. His vehicle was located at the Sagamore Park and Ride near the bridge.
Footage from the bridge shows a man matching Costello’s appearance and wearing similar clothing—a dark sweatshirt with a light logo and light grey sweatpants—jumping from the bridge. Costello had a buzz cut and no tattoos.
Born and raised in Southborough, Costello developed a deep passion for sports, particularly basketball. After graduating from high school, he pursued his love for the game at Hobart College and then Salve Regina College, later traveling to Europe to play professional basketball. He frequently traveled between Europe and the U.S. to train and compete. In 2019, he met Mathilde, whom he married in 2020. In addition to basketball, Costello had a love for cooking and nutrition, often helping friends and family adopt healthier diets and lifestyles. He also enjoyed writing music and lyrics, showcasing his creativity.
Emergency responders, including officers from the Bourne Police Department, Massachusetts State Police, and the Bourne Fire Department, conducted extensive searches of the area surrounding the Sagamore Bridge and the waterway below but were unable to locate anyone. Additional marine resources from the Bourne Department of Natural Resources, Sandwich Fire Department, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the U.S. Coast Guard were involved in the search.
A Celebration of Connor’s Life was held at the family home for close friends and family. In lieu of flowers, donations were requested to be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Metro West, Inc., located in Marlborough, MA.
