At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a black leather motorcycle jacket, dark blue jeans, and white and red Nike shoes. He also had on his titanium wedding ring. Distinctive tattoos, including the name "GREG" on his stomach and a cross on his left chest, were noted as part of his description. His family and friends grew increasingly worried as days turned into weeks with no word from him. The search for Gregory brought to light his connection to the local independent wrestling scene, where he was known as a referee. This community, described as very tight-knit, shared information and held out hope for his safe return. The period of uncertainty was an incredibly difficult time for his loved ones, who were left to wonder about his fate.
