In the summer of 1999, a 33-year-old woman named Patricia Jane Dixon, also known by her nicknames Trish, Patty, and Pat, vanished from Tennessee. Her last confirmed physical sighting was on July 29, 1999, when she was released from jail near East Lamar Alexander Parkway in Maryville. At the time of her disappearance, Patricia was facing personal hardships; she had recently lost her job and was living a transient lifestyle, occasionally staying in hotels. Standing between five feet five and five feet seven inches tall and weighing between 95 and 100 pounds, she had brown hair and hazel eyes. Distinctive features included a scar on her lower abdomen, a tattoo of a butterfly on her left outer ankle, and a tattoo of a unicorn on her left hip. The circumstances surrounding Patricia's disappearance are shrouded in uncertainty. Although last seen at the end of July, she made contact with her family after her release from jail. She spoke with her son on the phone on August 11, 1999. During this conversation, she promised him she would be at his upcoming birthday party on August 12, stating she would hitchhike if necessary to be there. Despite her assurances and her habit of calling her son daily, this was the last time he ever heard from her. She failed to show up for his party, and all communication ceased. Decades have passed since Patricia Dixon was last seen or heard from, and her case remains an unsolved and painful mystery for her loved ones. The investigation, led by the Blount County Sheriff's Office, has yet to yield definitive answers about what happened to her after that final phone call. While it has been suggested that she may have been involved with drugs around the time she went missing, her devotion to her son, demonstrated by her daily calls, makes her sudden silence all the more alarming. Authorities have considered the possibility that she may still be in the Knoxville area, but without any further evidence or contact, her whereabouts and fate are unknown. The case serves as a somber reminder of a life interrupted and a family left waiting for answers that have never come.
