Michael Phillip Proctor, a man originally from Moulton, Alabama, was 45 years old when he vanished from his residence at the Lake Houmas Inn in Houma, Louisiana. He had relocated to Louisiana in 2000 for a job in the offshore oil industry. Sometime after his move, he sustained an injury but chose to remain in Houma, captivated by the local wildlife and often exploring the swamps for turtles and other animals.
