In May of 2002, 28-year-old James Lewis Perryman was last seen at Buffalo Bill's Casino in Primm, Nevada. He had reportedly mentioned plans to visit an indoor gun range. At the time of his disappearance, James was described as a white male with a light complexion, brown hair, and brown eyes, standing at 5'11' and weighing between 140 and 160 pounds.
His distinguishing marks included a tattoo of the letter 'X' on each shoulder blade, a tattoo of a Leo astrological symbol on his right calf, and three scars on the inside of his forearms. He was last seen wearing a t-shirt, blue jeans, white socks, and black boots, along with a silver ring on his index finger. Perryman was known to lead a 'straight-edge' lifestyle, which involves abstaining from drugs and alcohol.
Three days after he was last seen, his rental car was found abandoned on Interstate 15 at the Hallaron Summit exit, approximately 75 miles from Las Vegas and 25 miles from Primm. Inside the vehicle, investigators discovered several peculiar items, including an empty gun case, a gun lock, and a half-empty box of ammunition. Also found was a black bag that contained his birth certificate, firefighter certificate, and payroll stubs. However, his. 45 caliber Sig Sauer pistol was missing. Some of his personal belongings, such as his clothing and backpack, were later located in his hotel room. He may have had a black attache case and his wallet with him when he disappeared.
The circumstances surrounding James Perryman's disappearance remain a mystery. While some agencies have noted his last known location as Primm, Nevada, authorities in San Bernardino, California, are also involved in the investigation. His case has been moved from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Missing Persons unit to Homicide, with detectives from both Las Vegas and San Bernardino County indicating they suspect foul play rather than suicide. Despite the passage of time, there have been no significant developments in the case, and James has not been seen or heard from since.
