In the late summer of 2003, a 30-year-old man named Leslie Haynie vanished from the area of Bullhead City, Arizona. On September 12, he was at the home of an acquaintance in the neighboring community of Mohave Valley. At some point, he left the residence and was never seen or heard from again. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain unknown. Leslie, also known as "Les," was a white male with curly red/auburn hair and hazel eyes. He had a scar over his right eyebrow and several distinctive tattoos, including one of the cartoon character 'Speedy Gonzalez' on his left shoulder, a happy and sad face on his upper right arm, and the name "Haynie" on his inner left bicep. At the time he went missing, he may have been wearing a Timex Indiglo watch and a gold wedding band. Sometime after Leslie was last seen, his red 2000 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck was discovered abandoned. The vehicle was found in the lower Mohave Valley area, near Plantation Drive and Ranchero Road. The discovery of his truck, however, did not yield any immediate answers as to his whereabouts. The Bullhead City Police Department opened an investigation into his case, but details about the early stages of their efforts are scarce in public records. Despite the passage of years, his case has remained open, a quiet but persistent question in the desert landscape where he was last known to be. The lack of new information has left Leslie's family and friends without closure for over two decades. His case is a somber reminder of the many individuals who disappear each year, leaving behind a void of uncertainty and unanswered questions. The investigation into what happened to Leslie Haynie is ongoing, and authorities continue to seek any information that might shed light on the events of that September day. The overview of his case is one of an abrupt and unexplained disappearance, with the discovery of his abandoned vehicle being the only significant lead made public. The passage of time has not diminished the hope for answers, and the search for Leslie continues in the hearts of those who remember him.
