John Bui Tran, a 28-year-old Vietnamese-American, was last seen on April 2, 2005, at a party on Mitchell Street in Randolph, Massachusetts. Tran had recently moved from West Covina, California, to Dorchester, Massachusetts, where he was living and working at a pet supply store in Quincy. He was also a part-time student at Quincy College, pursuing a degree in liberal arts with hopes of becoming a screenwriter.
Tran was known for frequently riding his bicycle and often carried a dark-colored backpack. He also regularly donated blood through the American Red Cross.
The circumstances surrounding Tran’s disappearance are considered suspicious. After attending the party that night, he was never seen again, and there have been no credible sightings or contacts from him since. The FBI, along with the Boston and Randolph Police Departments, has been investigating his case and has offered a $10,000 reward for any information that could lead to locating Tran or his remains. His family and friends, including close friend Chien Nguyen, have continued to seek answers and closure for his mysterious disappearance.
