On a June morning in 2005, 73-year-old Freddie Louis Whittiemore, known affectionately as 'Buddy,' began his day in Stanton, Tennessee, as he often did. He left a note for his wife indicating he was taking the dog for a walk. Between 6:00 and 7:30 a.m. on June 19th, he was seen standing by the road near Charleston Road and Highway 179, about a mile from his Cherry Street home.
