Lowell Vern Daughenbaugh, aged 38, was last seen on January 5, 1987, in Surry County, North Carolina. At the time of his disappearance, he was packing his belongings into his gold 1973 Chevrolet truck, preparing for a trip to Houston, Texas. His goal was to contact a friend there and look for work as a tractor-trailer driver. However, Daughenbaugh never made it to Houston and has not been heard from since.
