Marcus Antonio Farina, a 9-month-old infant, was last seen on December 6, 1991, in Hollywood, California. He was abducted by his non-custodial father, Sergio Farina, who had taken Marcus from his mother under the pretense of a pediatrician visit. Sergio never returned with the child, and when Marcus' mother went to Sergio’s apartment, she found it abandoned with a note stating, "Ha! Ha! Ha! You'll never find us.
Merry Christmas!" A felony warrant was issued for Sergio on December 12, 1991, followed by an FBI warrant for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution in 1993.
At the time of the abduction, Marcus was a white male with light brown hair, blue eyes, and a dimple on his right cheek. He also suffered from thyroid and pituitary gland issues, which could have required medical attention. It is believed that Sergio may have fled with Marcus to South America, possibly Uruguay or Brazil, or to Aquila, Italy. Sergio was described as a well-educated Uruguayan national with multiple aliases, including Salerno and Pedro Bispo. The case remains unsolved, and the whereabouts of both Marcus and Sergio are still unknown.
