Alyne Barrick, a 61-year-old woman from Mammoth Cave, Kentucky, was last seen on April 12, 1996. She was spotted walking her Pomeranian dog on Laurel Ridge Road, a rural area where she lived alone. That afternoon, she had a brief conversation with a neighbor, but she was never heard from again. Three days later, after no sign of her, another neighbor reported her missing.
