Brian Jack Deese, a 42-year-old man from Plano, Texas, was last seen on August 29, 1996, while visiting family in Lake Tahoe, California. On the day of his disappearance, Deese rented a boat at 1:15 p.m. to spend time on the lake. However, by 7:56 p.m., the boat was discovered abandoned in about 1,000 feet of water with no sign of Deese. Despite extensive searches by the U.S. Coast Guard and local authorities, no evidence of his whereabouts was found.
Brian had a history of bipolar disorder and previous suicide attempts, which has led investigators to believe he may have drowned, although his body was never recovered. He was described as a 6'0" tall Caucasian male, weighing 170 pounds, with gray hair and blue eyes. He also had a large surgical scar on his right shoulder and wore eyeglasses. His case remains unsolved, and he is presumed drowned.
