Fred Moseley, a 17-year-old from Canyon, Texas, was last seen on July 25, 1998. His parents, who were out of town at the time, reported him missing on July 30 when they returned home and could not contact him. Fred's car, a 1998 Dodge Neon, was later found abandoned in Randall County, but his whereabouts remained unknown. Notably, a shotgun Fred normally kept in the trunk of the car was missing.
In 2011, more than a decade after his disappearance, two men, Gerald Dooley and Mario Campos, were charged with his murder. Dooley, who had initially claimed to have dropped Fred off at home the night he went missing, later admitted to his involvement in the crime. He testified that Campos had strangled Fred with an electrical cord during a robbery for the shotgun. Despite these confessions, Fred's body has never been recovered.
