Christy Lynn Garrard, a 24-year-old woman from Boaz, Alabama, was last seen on August 14, 1998. She left her home to go for a jog at the nearby High Falls Park, a routine she often followed. However, Christy never returned home that day. Her car was later found at the park with her keys, purse, and shoes left inside, indicating that she had gone on her jog as planned but had mysteriously disappeared during or after her run.
