Zachary Bernhardt, an 8-year-old boy, was reported missing on September 11, 2000, from his home in Clearwater, Florida. On the night of his disappearance, he was sleeping in his mother's bed as she struggled with insomnia. His mother, Leah Hackett, left the apartment around 2:00 a.m. to take a walk and swim, and when she returned, Zachary was missing.
