Patricia Ann Adkins, known to her loved ones as Patti, was a 29-year-old mother who seemingly vanished after a late-night shift at her job. On June 29, 2001, she clocked out of the Honda of America automotive plant in Marysville, Ohio, just after midnight. She was reportedly looking forward to a week-long vacation, a romantic getaway to Canada with a man she was seeing. She was last seen wearing her all-white Honda uniform with her name "Patti" on a patch, and steel-toed tennis shoes. Adkins left her car at home and reportedly got a ride to work with a friend that day. After her shift ended, she was never seen or heard from again. Her family grew concerned when she failed to pick up her seven-year-old daughter as planned and officially reported her missing on July 8, 2001. When questioned by both Patti's sister and law enforcement, he denied having a relationship with her and claimed he had no plans to go on vacation. The man she was involved with reportedly failed a polygraph test regarding her disappearance and quit his job at the Honda plant shortly after she went missing. Investigators found items at his home that Adkins had told others she had given him, which contradicted his claim that they were merely acquaintances. Despite extensive investigation over the years, Patti Adkins' case remains unsolved, and foul play is suspected. Her financial accounts and personal records have shown no activity since the day she disappeared. In 2006, Patricia Adkins was declared legally dead by the courts.
