Mary Jane Menard, aged 40, went missing on October 4, 2003, from New Britain, Connecticut, though she was a resident of Waterbury. On the day of her disappearance, she had reportedly left her home to buy cigarettes and was never seen again. The case remained cold for several years until 2007, when skeletal remains were found in a wooded area behind a shopping plaza in New Britain.
