That morning, she dropped off her toddler daughter at Avance Head Start Child Care and then planned to meet the father of her children to discuss child support payments. However, she never arrived at her destination. Later that day, her car, a green 1996 Ford Mustang, was found abandoned at a strip mall located on West Commerce Street, just a mile away from her apartment.
There were no immediate signs of foul play at the scene.
Marisol had been involved in a custody dispute at the time of her disappearance, which heightened concerns for her safety. She had previously told her mother that if she did not return from her meeting, it could be because something tragic had happened to her.
