Roxann Tolson, aged 45, was last seen on August 14, 2005, at her home in Post Falls, Idaho. According to her husband, William Tolson, he left the house to run errands and returned to find that she had disappeared. Despite her vanishing in mid-August, Roxann was not reported missing until January 2006, after concerned relatives were unable to contact her.
During the months following her disappearance, William sold her belongings in a yard sale, continued collecting her Social Security payments, sold her car, and emptied her bank account. These actions, along with the delay in reporting her missing, raised suspicions regarding foul play.
The investigation revealed that there were issues in Roxann and William's marriage, including past instances of domestic violence. Neighbors reported hearing arguments around the time of her disappearance. Although William denied involvement, his inconsistent statements made him a person of interest. Their son, Lawrence, who had passed a polygraph test, eventually came to believe that his father may have unintentionally caused her death during one of their altercations.
