Brian Randall Shaffer, a 27-year-old medical student at Ohio State University, disappeared in the early morning hours of April 1, 2006, in Columbus, Ohio. The evening began as a celebration marking the start of spring break. Shaffer had dinner with his father, Randy, who noted that his son seemed exhausted from studying for exams.
