Haleigh Cummings, a 5-year-old girl from Satsuma, Florida, was last seen on February 10, 2009. She was reported missing from her home after her father's girlfriend, Misty Croslin, claimed to have put her to bed around 8:00 p.m. that night. Croslin, who was caring for Haleigh and her younger brother while their father worked, stated that when she awoke at approximately 3:00 a.m., Haleigh was gone, and the back door of the home was ajar.
An extensive search and investigation followed, but Haleigh has never been found. Her younger brother, who was 3 years old at the time, mentioned seeing a man dressed in black take his sister, though authorities have been unsure how much weight to give to this statement given his young age. Despite numerous leads and several searches in the surrounding areas, including a search of the St. Johns River, no significant evidence has been uncovered to indicate Haleigh’s whereabouts.
The case took several twists, including multiple inconsistent statements from Misty Croslin, who later failed multiple polygraph tests. Authorities have considered foul play and have publicly expressed doubts about Croslin's version of events. Although several individuals involved in Haleigh’s life, including Croslin and Haleigh’s father, were later arrested on unrelated drug trafficking charges, no one has been charged in connection with Haleigh's disappearance. The case remains unsolved, and Haleigh is presumed to be the victim of foul play.Last Seen: Feb 10, 2009
