Tracy Ocasio, a 27-year-old woman from Ocoee, Florida, was last seen in the early hours of May 27, 2009, leaving the Florida Tap Room bar in Orlando. She left the bar around 2:30 a.m. with a man named James Hataway. Her yellow 2002 Chevrolet Cobalt was later found abandoned, unlocked, and in a remote area on Franklin Street in Ocoee, just three miles from her home. Despite extensive searches, Tracy has never been heard from again.
James Hataway, the last person known to have seen her, quickly became the prime suspect. Hataway claimed that after leaving the bar, Tracy dropped him off at his house and then left. However, phone records indicated that she was in the area near Hataway's home for several hours, and her car was found nearby. Hataway, who had a history of violent behavior and prior accusations of assault, was convicted of attempted murder in an unrelated case shortly after Tracy's disappearance. He remains in prison but has never been charged in connection with her case.
Foul play is suspected in Tracy's disappearance, and despite the years that have passed, her case remains unsolved. Authorities continue to seek information regarding her whereabouts, hoping to bring closure to her family.
