Denise Marie Sheehy, 16, was last seen on July 7, 1970, after leaving her family’s apartment in the Woodside neighborhood of Queens, New York. That evening, Denise had an argument with her mother during dinner, reportedly because her mother thought Denise had been drinking alcohol. Upset, she stormed out of the apartment without taking any personal belongings. A neighbor later spotted her climbing over a fence near her building, but she was never seen again.
