In the early summer of 1974, a 14-year-old girl named Margaret Ellen Fox from Burlington, New Jersey, was excited about the prospect of her first babysitting job. She had placed an advertisement for her services, and a man calling himself 'John Marshall' responded, seeking a sitter for his young son. After several postponements, they arranged to meet.
