In the late summer of 1978, Maxwell Allen Graham, a successful 28-year-old business owner, disappeared from his life in Pinewood, South Carolina. Known to friends and family as 'Maxie' or 'Mac,' Graham had overcome early tragedy, losing both parents in separate car accidents as a teenager, to build a prosperous life.
