Daniel Fogg, a 24-year-old man, went missing on July 17, 1980, from the Marbridge Ranch, a residential facility for mentally disabled men near Austin, Texas. Fogg, who had the mental capacity of a 7- to 8-year-old child, was last seen near an administration building at the facility. He mentioned to others that he was going to get a pizza and water, but he never returned, and has not been seen since.
It was later discovered that Fogg had packed some clothing before leaving, suggesting he might have planned to go somewhere.
Despite extensive searches of the 400-acre facility and surrounding areas, no sign of him was found. There were some reported sightings in the local Austin area the day after he disappeared, but no further leads emerged. Fogg was known to be friendly and often enjoyed striking up conversations with strangers. His father had him legally declared dead in 1987, although his case remains unsolved and his body has never been recovered.
