Kathryn Elizabeth Collins, a 23-year-old woman, was last seen in Port Lavaca, Texas, on the morning of April 1, 1981. She had left her young son with her boyfriend's parents to run errands, including grocery shopping and a doctor’s appointment. At some point during her trip, her car, a brown 1974 Chevrolet Caprice, developed a flat tire, prompting her to pull over near a restaurant by the causeway.
