Ellen Linda Akers, a 15-year-old from Ormond Beach, Florida, went missing on April 18, 1981. On the evening of her disappearance, she was last seen at a 7-Eleven on Atlantic Avenue, where her mother worked. Ellen had stopped by to ask her mother for money to go to the movies. It remains unclear if she ever made it to the theater, as she never returned home and has not been heard from since.
