In the spring of 1981, a 17-year-old male named Martin Crumblish, also known as J.R., disappeared from Dobbs Ferry, New York. On the evening of May 3rd, he attended a party at a popular local spot by the Hudson River called "The View". He was a junior at Dobbs Ferry High School and was well-liked, known for being on the school's football and basketball teams. Friends described him as a sensitive and artistic person who enjoyed writing poetry. That night, he was staying with a friend in Dobbs Ferry because he was scheduled to take the SAT exam the following morning. Around 11:00 p.m., he left the party to walk a female friend home and then came back. He was seen leaving the party for a second time around midnight, intending to go to a friend's house on Myrtle Avenue. Martin never arrived and has not been seen or heard from since. The initial investigation into Martin's disappearance was treated as a missing person case. However, his family and loved ones did not believe he had run away. They noted he was excited about a new job and would have eventually contacted them. He left behind his Social Security card, and there has been no activity on his Social Security number since he vanished.
